CREATE Grant Applications
The CREATE Program has applied for for federal funding through various competitive federal grant programs. Information on this applications is included below.
TIGER Application
An application for Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) funds was submitted in August, 2009. The grant application is accessible here.
On February 17, 2010 Governor Pat Quinn announced that the Illinois Department of Transportation received a $100 million award from the TIGER program on behalf the CREATE Program.
CREATE was awarded funding for five projects. See attached press release for details.
TIGER II Application
The TIGER II application was submitted on August 23rd. The grant application is accessible here.
CREATE was not awarded a TIGER II grant.
TIGER III Application
The TIGER III application was submitted on October 31st. The grant application is accessible here.
ARRA High Speed and Intercity Passenger Rail Grant Program
The CREATE Partners announced January 29, 2010 that the CREATE Program will receive $133 million as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for a critical rail/rail flyover near 63rd and State Streets in the Englewood community on the south side of Chicago.
