Topic: The Grade Crossing separation of 25th Avenue/Union Pacific
(CREATE Project GS 6) located in the Villages of Bellwood and
Melrose Park, Illinois.
Proposed alternatives will be presented for the improvement for 25th Avenue from the
intersection at St.
Charles Avenue to the intersection at Lake Street. The grade crossing
separation is proposed to improve traffic flow through the corridor,
improve access to the proposed Metra station, enhance community
development and redevelopment, and improve safety.
The meeting will be accessible to persons with disabilities. Anyone
needing special assistance should contact Mr. Doug Galinsky at
312-922-6400. Persons planning to attend who will need a sign
language interpreter or other similar accommodation should contact
Mr. Galinsky at least five days prior to the meeting.

The CREATE Partners announced January 29, 2010 that the
CREATE Program will receive $133 million as part of the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for a critical rail/rail
flyover near 63rd and State Streets in the Englewood community on
the south side of Chicago. Governor Pat
Quinn and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin were joined today by Chicago
Mayor Richard Daley as they kicked off a series of announcements at
Chicago's Union Station in Chicago to discuss details about
Illinois' grant award.
