As we continue through 2024, the CREATE Program continues to improve freight and passenger transportation by building bridges and improving connections serving the Chicago region’s rail system and our communities. By reducing delays across many transportation modes, these projects also improve the environment for local communities and the state overall. Through the CREATE Program, thousands of metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions will be saved from entering the atmosphere every year. The CREATE Program partners look forward to building on this momentum throughout 2024. Modernizing our region’s railroads is a significant endeavor, requiring the close coordination and partnership between the railroads, city, county, state, and federal government.
